Summer is but a distant memory and stores are already getting you set for the holidays! Kmart is prepping for the season by launching the “Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway”.
That means there will be one layaway giveaway per store per week every week from 9/9/12 through 11/17/12.
If you have any holiday gifts you've wanted to put on layaway, you might as well do it during the promotion so you have a chance to win (plus you'll be set for your holiday shopping without all the December stress!)
If I were going to put something away on layaway, it would be a hot new electronic item or something I know my kids really want. You don't want to be the mom that promises this year's HOT TOY and then have it sell out before you even make it to the store.
Remember beanie babies? Tickle me Elmo? Zhu Zhu pets? I bought a zhu zhu back when they were $9 and had it ready for my son at Christmas time. By early December, they were selling for over $60 on ebay! It was all I could do to hold on to that toy for him....
He was happy, and you want your kids to be happy this season too. If there is something you really want (and you think others will be hot for it too) it might make sense to get it early. Even September early.
For me? I am starting to get interested in the new iPhone. Sure, I never check messages, call anyone, or remember to bring my phone with me, but what the hay. It's a mini computer, and I like it.
It goes without saying that I would also need a pink rhinestone case. I've personally never used free layaway, but it just might be time to give it a try. I'd love to win the giveaway.
Feel free to share your thoughts and what you'd put on layaway in the comments below.

Saw something you liked on this blog? I do not keep the majority of items reviewed on this blog (unless of course it was eaten or used beyond the point of sharing.) If you are interested in receiving a slightly used item I have reviewed and it has been 30 days or less since I posted the article, send me an email. I may still have it and am willing to give it away. I abhor clutter, so I don't keep them for longer than 30 days. I frequently send items to readers and even strangers. The rest go to charities that pick up at my house every month. I will pay shipping as long as it is in the continental US (this blog makes money so I feel it's a cost of doing business.) No promises are made and you accept any used products at your own risk.
