A year ago, I switched to all "green" laundry detergents, but received major push back from my family because of missing fragrances. Then I went to mixing half "smelly" detergent, half "green." And that's where my laundry progress stalled.
I have been using laundry balls in the dryer for years, so when I was offered a chance to review the Robby Wash Laundry Ball, I was already familiar with the ball concept. What was hard to imagine was how one little ball would wash all of our laundry for a whole year.
The Robby Wash ball contains little orbs that activate your water to wash your clothing. After about 3 months, you add new orbs (all included in the little box - a whole year's worth total.)
It's super easy to use - toss it in the washing machine and forget about it. The first few times I used it, I walked out of the laundry room feeling like I forgot something. It's so weird to turn on the machine and just walk away, but that's how it works!
My kids occasionally play with my dryer balls, so they wanted to play with the Robby Wash Ball. I explained to them that this one needed to stay in the wash, and they left it alone. But not before naming it "Mrs. Smells good." They are used to the Mr. Steamy's in the dryer, so I guess they thought he needed a wife.
And the Robby Wash Ball does smell good. Not overpowering, but floral. It does not leave much of a scent on our clothing. Almost none at all. This freaked me out because I expected flack from my family members. So far, there hasn't been any complaints.
The balls inside the wash ball seem to be holding up just fine, the clothes are getting clean, and our laundry just got a whole lot greener (and easier.)
