At first glance, it appears to be the same thing. Solid. White. Coconut smelling. But it's not. Coconut Cream is actually a food, not a cooking oil. This didn't stop me from cooking with it, but I found a surprisingly large number of uses for Coconut Cream and am adding more every day.
If you check out the recipe section at Tropical Traditions, you'll find a bunch of chocolate coconut recipes, bars and cookies, smoothies, and soups.
So far, I've used coconut cream in chocolate almond butter balls, in cream of broccoli soup, in coconut banana bread, to add creaminess to hot cocoa, in tropical smoothies, and to make this awesome (vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, and can-free!) pumpkin pie.
| This pie only contained 1/6 cup of honey and no other sweeteners - it was fantastic! And crust-less! |

I just subscribed to the Tropical Traditions newsletter. I enjoyed looking over your recipes! I have food allergies and have found that anything that I can substitute coconut into really helps with my allergies!
Did you mean the giveaway was until 4/20? It looks delish - something I would really like to try!
I subscribed! I can't wait to learn recipes and more about this wonderful stuff!
(Did you mean to announce that the contest/give-away would end on 05/20/11? Instead of 04/20/11?)
Anyway, I have a friend in WV who uses a coconut oil on her face and hair...and also to cook with. She gets her products at a nearby health food store. I am anxious to look into your information, and see if its the same stuff! Would love to win, as it would be an easy way to try it! :-)
