For the most part, I can be realistic and not worry about a little mess. But clutter! No way, no how! I keep a collection in my closet of everything I want to give away. I add to it whenever I come across something we no longer use. I'm always going through drawers and closets, pulling out unused items. Adding them to the bags in the closet.
But.....every time I walk by the closet (or God forbid, open it!) I immediately feel stress bubbling up inside my body. Way too much stress. The same stress I feel when I know there's a drawer or closet that has been forgotten for awhile. I just know there's excess or clutter inside. Aaarrggghhh!!!
Goodwill picks up at our house about once a month. I always have plenty of bags and boxes for them. Sometimes, I put out so much stuff it looks like we're moving! This must mean I have a shopping problem, right? Maybe. But it also means we have two kids that grow quickly. It means I get a lot of things for free (from friends, from this blog, from my outside activities). It means my interests change.
And I can't and won't keep it all. Once Goodwill comes, I feel such a rush of relief. And then I find something that I no longer need/want.....and the cycle of stress returns.

My tip for organization-do a little every day. Tidy up at the end of each day, that way, you’ll never get to the point where you have a huge mess that takes a days worth of time. Works pretty well!
I have a hard time finding space for my sewing supplies. I stuff them all in boxes and hide them in a closet! Other than that there is a place for almost everything!

My worst area is the kid's toys!
I have lots of organizational stress right now. We are in between selling a house and building a house. I have sold some furniture in my kids' rooms but am waiting to buy something new until we get in the new house. Therefore, there is clutter galore in their rooms! We try to keep it contained in totes, etc. but it is getting to me! :)

My biggest source of organizational stress is my sons room. Two of my sons share a room and no matter how much I clean it and straighten it out, I can't keep up with it. They constantly fill the room with toys, books, collectables (like rocks), etc. I've tried putting items in bins and labeling them for easy organization, but they just don't get it. I'm starting to think that I'd be better off just closing the door.

Hmmm I'm another "whole house" needs organization person. sources? 3 kids from 3-13, Lots of clothes that need to be gone through, AND homeschool books, materials and "Stuff" in addition to the 3 yo's toys~ yup... I could use some organization. :)

Believe it or not its the kitchen table. It seems to be a "catch-all" for all school papers, mail, coupons, and things that come into the house.

My biggest organizational stress is all those little toys and whatnot (like from the Dollar Tree or school treasure box) I always try to find a box for it's "home" but they still end up every where.

I am right there with you. I am constantly trying to declutter and end up with a pile in a corner of the room waiting to be discarded, but for some reason I just can't make the next step to get rid of it. What if I need that vase or if I could sell something on ebay to make a little extra money. So instead it sits there waiting to be dealt with and causing me stress!

The bathroom is a nightmare!!!!!!! There are used bath towels, various soaps/shampoos scattered around the bathtub.
I can't stand a messy kitchen! It really bugs me!

My biggst source of organizational stress is not having enough storage space and having to move things around to accommodate new items. Then, I forget where I moved the "old" stuff!
We have a spare bedroom that is a huge mess. I seem to pile everything in that room.I really need to sort out the junk.It's scary in there:)

Organizing the clothes that my older kids have outgrown to save them for the younger ones. I have no storage space, with boxes piled on top of one another in the bottom of my closet. Getting to them is a nightmare.

My best organizational tip is mainly whatever junk comes in the house from sales or stores, something has to go. It also helps me buy less knowing that I have to get rid of something to make room for something new.
