Free Disposable Cleaning Srubbers

Here's a quick tip to help you Green-up your dishwashing experience. Take the mesh bags that hold produce and cut them up into pieces. I usually cut a 3lb apple bag (or 5lb clementine bag) into 8-10 scrubbies.

Store them in a drawer near the sink and take one out each time you do the dishes. When you come across a bowl with crusty oatmeal or old spaghetti dried on it, scrub it with the scrubbie before throwing it in the dishwasher.

Use it on pans, plates, forks, whatever. Then when you're sink is empty, use it to clean up any dried on gunk. Then toss it and all of it's food crustiness into the trash. And never look back.

You will have reused something that was destined for the trash, made your dishes come out of the dishwasher cleaner, saved money on store-bought scrubbers, and thrown out all the gunk. Happy cleaning!
