And it's a job that I dislike. When I clean, I want to do a really good job with as few chemicals as possible. For years, I mopped on my hands and knees until I discovered a large microfiber mop that changed my mopping world forever.
Never one to pass up an opportunity to improve the way I clean, I jumped at the chance to review the Spin & Go mop. It just so happened to arrive at my doorstep just as I was finishing up our construction project and was about to clean the new floors.
So I filled the bucket with water and set out to mop our rubber exercise room floor, the bathroom tile, and the kitchen tile. My kids ran to help with the "spinning".
Here are my thoughts:
The mop is super soft and the bucket is the perfect size for holding rinse water. The mop did a great job cleaning the dusty surfaces. It was fun to use the spinner and it really did ring out the mop (think salad spinner, but requiring less work.) It was super convenient to have the bucket/ringer right with me while I was mopping, and I loved not having to touch the mop head in any way.
I'm glad I used it on our tile and rubber floors and not on the wood flooring. I think the mop does a good job, but the mop ends can sometimes fold under, exposing the hard green plastic top and scraping the floor. I wouldn't want to risk scratching my hardwood floors. Tile can take it, so I'm happy to use this on my new tile floors. Also, I would prefer a bigger mop head. I realize that a bigger mop head would require a bigger spinner and bucket, but to mop as much surface area as I do, I really need something that gets the job done quicker.
Want to give this mop a try for yourself? You're in luck, one Suburban Jungle reader will receive a Spin & Go Touchless Cleaning system!

Instead of filling up a bucket, I keep a spray bottle of watered down cleaner and before I mop a section, I spray it down.

My best time savings tip is to keep all the mopping supplies in one location together so each time you need to mop you can easily locate everything and it won't be a chore.

I would say, don't overuse the soap. You spend more time trying to get it off that way.

I skate with my feet on towels when I get the floor too wet from mopping! Instead of waiting for it to dry.
the big time saving tip in our house is that we have shiny tiles and if the kids walk barefoot on them they get feet marks. So we end up washing the floor more often so we ask our kids to always wear slippers and it cuts down on the amount of times we have to mop. Thanks for the chance to win.
If you pre-treat spots on the floor with a spray cleaner, your floor cleaning efforts will be much better.

My tip: Mop when no one else is home. This eliminates people crossing your clean floor before it dries.
Heathertruett@gmail.com
I do one of two things, I either pre-spray all my hard spots prior to beginning mopping or I lay a wet rag over them before beginning mopping. That way I don't have to do any/little scrubbing since it will be loosened up by the time I get to mopping it.

Definitely make every effort to clean up spills, track-ins, etc., when they first occur. Not only are they easier to clean before they dry/set, but it makes it easier to clean overall if you don't have to spend extra time on 1-2 bad spots.

My cleaning tip for floors is vinegar and water to really break up soil from a dirty floor plus there aren't any toxians to worry about. Also, baking soda is great as an abrasive and also no unneeded chemicals. Just learned baking soda is great for dog odors which you may have somewhere on 5000 sq ft of carpet. Wow, that's alot.
