$159 worth of Groceries for $53! Saved 67%

This week, I went out on another stock-up mission. We had spent a few weeks in September, not really buying much for groceries, and we ended up eating all of our frozen veggies, meats, and most of our noodles.

Over the last few weeks, I've been able to restock our pantry. Click here, here, and here to see a few of those trips.

This week, I bought $158.79 worth of groceries for $52.98, a savings of $105.81 or 67%. Check out the pictures below to see what we got. You may enlarge any photo by clicking on it.

The Cereal and Crackers - 16 boxes - In reality, most of this is junk, but buying all of this took $6 off the total of my other groceries (originally $40, after coupons my total for these items was NEGATIVE $6). I'll be bringing crackers to all upcoming holiday parties. ;)

The Veggies & Fruits - 13 bags of Green Giant Steamers, Broccoli, onion, jalepenos, lettuces, pears, bananas, cilantro. Yay frozen veggies - we were totally out!

The Canned Goods - 18 jars of Prego sauce (at 66c each!), 25 oz of e.v olive oil, wine vinegar, olives, 2 containers of progresso broth, 8 cans of peas/beans, 2 cans pumpkin & 2 cans fat free evap milk (somebody's hosting Thanksgiving this year!)

The miscellaneous items: Flour, eggs, fruit snacks (#@#@!!!), tortillas, yogurt, and bread. By the way, if you want to win some free yogurt, you can get 4 chances on this blog.

Good job! I always use coupons but I have never had that kind of success!

Did you do the Prego at Safeway? The Krazy Coupon Lady said there was a $1.00 off catalina promo right now. Wondering if it would work on their organic variety, it's my absolute favorite!

Are you going to post your Thanksgiving? I would love to see what you make :)

Thanks for entering my Peace Love Mom Tshirt giveaway! That's how I found your blog and it's great! Great job on the groceries this week too. Very impressive!

Thank you everyone for you kind words. I was kind of embarrassed by all my "boxes"

Susan- if safeway is a supervalu store, then yes. :) I got a bunch of catalinas and used them in the same visit (I split my purchases up into different transactions so I wouldn't have to pay as much out of pocket).

My store didn't have any organic prego. :( And they didn't have the marinara variety (my fave since it's just tomatoes, basil and garlic, I think, but no sugar)

Since I'll be hosting Thanksgiving, I bet there will be posting. But it's just the 4 of us and my dad, so everything will be scaled down. But I make a mean, no crust, low sugar, fat-free pumpkin pie. ;)
